NATIONALS

WEll what a full on weekend! Have just finished an exciting easter weekend of mass loads of kayaking and heaps of fun! Mike won the teva riverfest extreme race on Friday, it was an amazing race down Citron, a pretty trcky looking rapid. Few swims on the day but just some awesome head to head racing! Then Saturday the prenats were on, luuka won,me 2nd the SJ 3rd. Think the guys were Aaron 1st,Mike 2nd and johann 3rd. Then on Easter Sunday the nationals were on. After us girls.a pretty sweet first run, clean and everything would you believe, I was in 2nd place to Heather Jull who still has every bit of skill and showed up all us girls by winning the race with a huge margin!!!By 2nd run I was not paddling the best and hit far too many gates and spun many silly gates. Luckily still pulled out 3rd with luuka taking 2nd. Mike won the open men with arelin (frenchie) taking 2nd and Johann 3rd. Aaron got a marginal 50 that he still is debating! Many 50s were handing out on the tricky course, boils galore! now have a training camp for the next couple of days and thn off to secondary schools where I'm coaching TGC and I think with the talent in the girls this year its going to be a good nats!!! GO TGC!!!
